NCAA Requirements

Do you plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics? If the answer is yes, you will need to make sure you meet the following requirements. There are various courses to take at Franklin County High School that are NCAA approved.

DIVISION I Course Requirements

A minimum of 16 core courses (approved by the NCAA):

  • 4 years of English
  • 3 years of Math (Algebra 1 or higher)
  • 2 years of Physical Science
  • 1 extra year of English, Math, or Physical Science
  • 2 years of Social Studies
  • 4 years of extra core courses (any course on the approved list)

A minimum of 14 core courses (approved by the NCAA):

  • 3 years of English
  • 2 years of Math (Algebra 1 or higher)
  • 2 years of Physical Science
  • 2 extra years of English, Math, or Physical Science
  • 2 years of Social Studies
  • 3 years of extra core courses (any course on the approved list)

DIVISION III Course Requirements

A minimum of 16 core courses for The Class of 2013 and after (approved by the NCAA):

  • 3 years of English
  • 2 years of Math (Algebra 1 or higher)
