Mrs. Emily Wetzel - May 2025 Support Staff of the Month

Superintendent, Mr. Dustin Gehring, is excited to announce that Mrs. Emily Wetzel has been selected as May’s “Support Staff of the Month.” 

Emily is a paraprofessional at Brookville Elementary School who has dedicated three years to helping our young learners. Mrs. Wetzel plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education in the future. 

Emily was nominated for this honor by a parent. When asked why Mrs. Wetzel should be considered for this recognition, she responded, “Emily ALWAYS has a smile on her face every morning at the car line. She always says good morning to each student making them feel welcomed and valued. You can tell she enjoys being with the students and to me that’s so important.” 

In her spare time, Emily loves having Sunday dinners with her parents and having friends over to hangout in the backyard. Emily and her husband Joey have three boys so spending time with family and friends is everything! They enjoy playing outside, gardening, and going on adventure walks. Fun fact, she loves to find old rustic items and make new uses for them. On Wednesdays in the summer you can find Emily, her boys, and her mom at the sale barn. 

When asked what the best part of her job is, Mrs. Wetzel responded, “Greeting students at morning drop off is how I start my day. I love that I get to be a friendly face for the students but also parents. One of the best parts about my job is that I get to work with some really amazing students! I work one on one with students and watch them achieve milestones not only academically but socially as well. Another great part about my job is that I work with some really amazing teachers and I get to learn and grow from watching them. No two days are ever the same but I love every minute of it! The students, staff, and teachers are all family and a part of team BES! I feel very blessed to be a part of team BES!”
