2016 Choir State Solo and Ensemble Report

During the months of January & February, Franklin County High School & Brookville Middle School choir students under the direction of Camden Ritchie, Matthew Umphreys & Karla Ariens participated in district and state solo & ensemble competitions. Forty students participated in all five levels of competition. In addition, six students from the highest level of competition achieved scores that allowed them to compete at the state level. Those students were: Gillian Back, Kelley Kuntz, Drew Selm, Liza Stacy, Emily Tschaenn & Jessica Walls. All six state finalists won gold medals at state competition on Saturday, February 20th. This is the highest accomplishment for a vocal soloist in the Indiana State School Music Association competition. Other vocalists who performed at district competition were: Abby Kidd, Adrianna Rose, Alina Sanders, Allyson Miller, Ashton Ball, Brianna Bentley, Brianna Lower, Cayla Moore, Chloe Sparks, Cody Prifogle, Dakota Yetter, Emma Couch, Faith George, Felicity Bohman, Gracie Graf, Hailey Ball, Heaven McQueen, Isaac Selm, Jana Peters, Katelynn Lashley, Kionna Hauk, Laura Edwards, Lauren Seibert, Madison Roberts, Makenzie Feerer, Meredith Jordan, Olivia McIntosh, Sara Pyfrin, Sarah Ridenour, Stacy Flannery, Taylor McCool & Trinity Toles.
