Mr. Michael Kristoff - September 2025 Educator of the Month

Franklin County Community School Corporation is proud to recognize Mr. Michael Kristoff as September’s Educator of the Month. His dedication to students, passion for teaching, and active involvement in the school community make him a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
Mr. Kristoff is a history teacher at Franklin County High School and has been educating students for 11 years—all of them with FCCSC. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Purdue University, a Bachelor’s in Social Studies Education from IU East, and a Master’s in Legal Studies from Northern Kentucky University.
This recognition comes as a result of a heartfelt nomination from one of Mr. Kristoff’s students. When asked why Mr. Kristoff deserved this recognition, the student shared, “He is very supportive and always allows us to ask questions. He has a student-teacher relationship where we feel comfortable and confident in his class. He is also involved in many other things such as coaching tennis and girls basketball, being on the Early College Leadership team, and the Social Studies Academic Team. He is a good representation of what FCHS students look up to.”
Outside the classroom, Mr. Kristoff stays active in the community. He coaches multiple sports, serves on academic teams, and works at Harbor Links golf course during the summer. In his downtime, he enjoys watching sports and movies, attending his son SJ’s sporting events, traveling with friends and family, and golfing.
When asked what he enjoys most about teaching, Mr. Kristoff shared, “Franklin County has the best students, teachers, and staff around. I am proud to work with teachers who value being experts in what they do and build positive relationships with students to help them succeed. I love knowing my son is getting a quality education at FCHS that will prepare him for college and life. I enjoy getting to know my students and seeing them find themselves throughout high school as they begin to prepare for adulthood. I have the greatest homeroom/WISE class ever. I always say I will keep teaching until I stop having fun every day, and they make teaching fun every single day.”
