November 2023 Support Staff of the Month

Mrs. Wanda Doerflein has been selected as November’s “Support Staff of the Month.”
Wanda currently serves as a custodian at Franklin County Middle School. Wanda joined the Franklin County Community School Corporation in 2001, making this her 22nd year. She was nominated for this honor by an administrator. When asked why Mrs. Doerflein should be considered for this recognition, they responded, “She is a dependable, committed custodian who takes pride in her work and how our school looks. Her kindness shines daily with all students and staff. She is an important, resourceful part of the Franklin County Middle School family. The kindness, pride, and dedication that she displays during her working hours are to be commended.”

Outside of school, Wanda enjoys raising exhibition poultry, which is like another job, on a little farm on Duck Creek. Wanda also enjoys gardening, home canning, and reading when time allows. When asked what the best part of her job is, Mrs. Doerflein responded, “The best part of the job is to see the students come in each year and getting to know them, watching them mature through the years. I just try to be a friendly face and encourage them to ask for help if needed. Also seeing them go through the middle school on to the high school.”

The purpose of the “Support Staff of the Month” program is to recognize outstanding Franklin County Community School Corporation Support Staff who demonstrate dedication to his/her job, school, students, and community. Nomination forms for “Support Staff of the Month” can be found on the school corporation website at www.fccsc.k12.in.us.
