Mrs. Sandy Baker – Support Staff of the Month for December 2021

Director of Operations, Mr. Keith Isaacs, is thrilled to announce that Mrs. Sandy Baker, special education paraprofessional, has been selected as December’s “Support Staff of the Month.”

Sandy is in her fourth year of working at the Franklin County Community School District. Mrs. Baker has worked as a life skills aide and substitute teacher before becoming a special education paraprofessional at Franklin County Middle School.

Sandy was nominated for this honor by two colleagues. When asked why Mrs. Baker should be considered for this recognition, they responded, “Mrs. Baker goes above and beyond in everything! Sandy is a tremendous help in the classroom. She is able to help students with their math homework, helps make accommodations for students with IEP’s  and 504 plans, gives a list of missing work to students, and helps grade assignments. She not only helps all students, but then does extra things that none of us have asked her to do. Sandy takes initiative and jumps in and helps wherever/however help is needed.”

When not at school, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family, especially at her children’s ball games.

When asked what the best part of her job is, Mrs. Baker responded, “The best part of my job is interacting with students. I enjoy being a person that students can be comfortable around asking for help with homework and life’s challenges.”

The purpose of the “Support Staff of the Month” program is to recognize outstanding Franklin County Community School Corporation Support Staff who demonstrate dedication to his/her job, school, students, and community. Nomination forms for “Support Staff of the Month” can be found on the school corporation website at www.fccsc.k12.in.us.
