2016 STEM Day

On Friday May13th — STEM DAY activities and demos were developed by various science classes at the high school for the county’s 4th graders. Mrs. Goins helped organize the time and date for the learning activities and the Science students worked on a variety of interactive labs that would intrigue the Elementary students.  About 350 students visited the various stations during the day along with some of the other high school students who enjoyed the wonderful day.  The Brookville PTO donated to help with the cost of materials.  Next year’s tentative date for STEM is May 12th along with the possible addition of the Arts.

Classes involved were:

Mrs. Spurlock’s 4 Bio II classes
Mrs.Hoffman’s AP Biology Class & AP Chemistry Class
Mr. Herbert’s PLTW Engineering class
Mr. Barricklow–physics class of 17 students were required to present a demonstration of some scientific principle.
