The theme for the 2017-18 school year is “Destination Excellence”. To kick off the school year, every student was asked to put into writing what they planned to do in the future. Teachers were encouraged to engage students in discussions about plans after high school graduation. In the primary and elementary grades, these conversations were as basic as “what do you want to do or be when you grow up?” At the middle and high school level, discussions centered around career paths, post-secondary education choices, and financial planning. As a school community, once we KNOW where a student wants to go, what a student wants to be, or what a student wants to do, we can begin to outfit them with the skills, the knowledge, and the resources that will help them on their journey to excellence.
Each month, a student will be selected from each school building to be featured on our website and Facebook page. A short bio, along with that student’s “plans for the future” will be published. We are proud of our students and look forward to helping them on their journey.
