…..Laurel School has been recognized with a Robotics Grant for the 2016-17 school year. Through this our school will have a Robotics team that will compete with other schools. We will also have the opportunity to use robotics in the classrooms, bringing S.T.E.M. Education to our students in grades 4th- 8th.
…..to Mrs. Nobbe who ran the Detroit Marathon on Sunday, October 18. She had her fastest time of 3 hrs. 44 min. 51 sec. She placed 7th out of 192 women in her age group. She placed 113 out of 1652 women total. She placed 587 out of 3801 total runners, both men and women. Her next marathon is the Boston Marathon on April 18th and then the Flying Pig in May. She also hopes to run in the Chicago Marathon next October.
..According to FCCSC Superintendent, Dr. Debbie Howell, Mrs. Laura Frondorf, has been named named as December’s “Educator of the Month”. Mrs. Frondorf is currently the Media Specialist at both Laurel and Mt. Carmel Schools. Mrs. Frondorf recently received funding at Donorchoose.org for a classroom project at Laurel School called “Putt Puff Puttedy Chuff Otis comes to Visit”. Continue reading.

…..Congratulations to Mrs. Renforth for being named as January’s “Educator of the Month”. Mrs. Renforth currently teachers 4th Grade at Laurel Elementary and Junior High.
