FAFSA DAY at FCHS!
With the help of Mr. David Murray from the National Center for College Costs, parents/guardians and students can get FREE, one-on-one help from the experts! The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) event will take place from 1:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in the FCHS Library. Assistance is provided on a first come, first serve basis. It is highly recommended (although not required) that you bring your completed taxes with you so as to avoid needing to make any amendments after the fact. If you are not able to do this, you are able to estimate your income, and make adjustments later.
Starting with the 17/18 FAFSA, you will no longer have to wait until January 1st to file the FAFSA. It will open up in October 1st. Due to this change, parents and students will use the two-years prior taxes. This change is called Prior-Prior Year and will help financial aid offices to award students earlier. For more information, please visit this site.
There are deadlines to fill out the FAFSA each year. Please see the state deadlines below.
Indiana- April 15 (but can vary by college)
Ohio- February 15 (but can vary by college)
Kentucky – as soon as possible after FAFSA opens (but can vary by college)
