Franklin County Middle School will be hosting an Open House for all current 6th and 7th grade students. Tour the building and meet the teachers.
Date: Wednesday, March 1, 2017
Time: Open House begins at 6:00 p.m. (Informational Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.)
Location: Franklin County Middle School
Audience: Current 6th and 7th Grade Students and Parents
Do you need assistance or have questions about enrolling in the 21st Century Scholars Program? We are going to have designated nights in the community here to assist parents of 7th and 8th graders with this process.
You MUST sign your child up NO LATER than the end of 8th grade year to be eligible. Do not miss out on this opportunity!
Laurel Elementary – Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 5-7 pm.
Brookville Middle School – Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 1-7 pm.
Mt. Carmel Elementary – Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5-7 pm.

PIZZA AND DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THOSE THAT ATTEND AFTER SCHOOL HOURS!
Before you apply online, make sure you have the following:
- Student’s Social Security Number, date of birth, and address
- Parent or guardian’s Social Security Number, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number if applicable
- Previous year gross income amounts for all members of the household (Example: if you are applying after December 31, 2015, use 2015 amounts.)
- A valid email address. Free email addresses are available at Yahoo! & Gmail.

Board Votes to Rename Middle School
The Franklin County Board of School Trustees voted unanimously to rename “Brookville Middle School”, “Franklin County Middle School” beginning with the 2017-18 school year.
Transition Team Update
In addition to the new name, Mr. Chris Bundy, FCMS Principal, shared the following information regarding Franklin County Middle School with the Board:
- New Name: Franklin County Middle School
- School Mascot: Wildcats
- School Colors: Navy Blue, Columbia Blue, and Silver
- Mission Statement: Building a strong community of college and career ready students.
- Vision Statement: All students will embrace learning, excel academically, and own their own futures.
Middle School Students to Vote on New Logo
Students participating in the Graphic Arts Class at the Whitewater Career Center were asked to design a logo for Franklin County Middle School. The logo was to incorporate a triangle (representing the three schools coming together), the school colors, and the school mascot. The Teacher Transition Team has narrowed the field to three contenders. All current 6th and 7th grade students will have the opportunity to caste a vote for their favorite design.
