Mrs. Stacey Nobbe – February’s Educator of the Month

Mrs. Stacey Nobbe

Superintendent, Ms. Tammy Chavis, is thrilled to announce that Mrs. Stacey Nobbe, 7th and 8th grade special education teacher at Franklin County Middle School, has been selected as February’s “Educator of the Month.”

Mrs. Stacey Nobbe has been teaching for Franklin County Community Schools for 21 years. Mrs. Nobbe received both her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in special education from Indiana University East. She also earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Indiana Wesleyan.

Mrs. Nobbe was nominated for this honor by a parent. When asked why Mrs. Nobbe should be considered for this recognition, the parent responded, “Mrs. Stacey Nobbe holds a position that often goes unrecognized. Stacey truly cares about the students at Franklin County Middle School. She comes in early and stays late–all so that she can create engaging lesson plans and facilitate and motivate her students. Mrs. Nobbe works behind the scenes to keep up with and implement her students’ IEP’s. She also provides fun incentives, such as weekly treats and positive publicity, to motivate her students to reach their reading goals. Mrs. Nobbe’s classroom is a positive zone. She continually strives to motivate each and every student. When she speaks to them, it is always with care and kindness.”

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Stacey has coached the high school cross country team for 7 years and formed a running club at the middle school. She has also been involved with 4H.

When not at school, Stacey enjoys running and training for marathons, reading, and rescuing animals that she encounters while running.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Mrs. Nobbe responded, “I love my students! I have learned so much from them over the years. I love that each of my classes becomes like a family and it really is a safe place to learn and make mistakes.”

The purpose of the “Educator of the Month” program is to recognize outstanding Franklin County educators who demonstrate excellence in the classroom, leadership in the school, dedication to the students, and involvement in the community.
