New Principal at MCS for the 22-23 School Year

Superintendent, Ms. Tammy Chavis, announces that Mrs. Beth Lake has been selected as Mount Carmel Elementary’s new principal.

Mrs. Beth Lake has been employed with the Franklin County Community School Corporation for 21 years. She taught English at Franklin County High School for 10 years and returned to teach the Challenge Program at Mount Carmel in 2012.

Beth is a graduate of College of Mount St. Joseph where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She also attended Miami University to obtain her Ohio Writing Project Certification. Furthermore, Beth earned her Masters degree in Teacher Leadership and Principal’s License from Indiana Wesleyan University.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Lake is an active member of the Fragile X Parent Board at Cincinnati Children’s. When not at school, Beth enjoys spending her “free time” at travel softball tournaments, horse shows, reading, knitting, and spending time with family and friends.

When asked what she looks forward to the most in her new position as principal, Mrs. Lake responded, “I look forward to working closely with an already amazing group of teachers and support staff, and to continue leading Mount Carmel School in the right direction. The best part of my job is being with kids each day and watching them gain the skills they need to become lifelong learners.”
