Mrs. Lucinda VanMeter – Support Staff of the Month for November 2021

Director of Operations, Mr. Keith Isaacs, is thrilled to announce that Mrs. Lucinda VanMeter, Custodian at Franklin County High School, has been selected as November’s “Support Staff of the Month.”

Lucinda is in her nineteenth year of working at the Franklin County Community School District. Mrs. VanMeter worked in the Special Education department for sixteen years and in 2018, became a custodian.

Lucinda was nominated for this honor by three colleagues. When asked why Mrs. VanMeter should be considered for this recognition, they responded, “Lucinda does a stellar job of taking care of the building and making sure teachers’ classrooms are in excellent condition. She is diligent in her cleaning of the room, always providing clean towels to wipe off the desks and making sure we have enough cleaner to spray. I have seen her get on her hands and knees to scrub out the tiniest scuff marks on the floor. She is absolutely meticulous in her work and the room is pristine after she cleans it. Not only that, but she always exhibits a positive attitude. Lucinda enters the room every day with a smile and cheerful greeting. She is simply an all-around wonderful woman. She genuinely cares about the students and faculty/staff at Franklin County High School, and it manifests itself in the pride she takes in her work and the relationships she has built with others in the building.”

When not at school, Lucinda enjoys spending her time with her family, friends, and pets. She also spends a great deal of time renovating her home.

When asked what the best part of her job is, Lucinda responded, “The people I have the pleasure of working with. The teachers and atmosphere at Franklin County High School are great!”
