Mr. Mark Baldwin – Educator of the Month for October 2021

Superintendent, Ms. Tammy Chavis, is thrilled to announce that Mr. Mark Baldwin, Industrial Technology Teacher at Franklin County High School, has been selected as October’s “Educator of the Month.”

Mr. Baldwin is in his 8th year of teaching for Franklin County Community Schools. Mr. Baldwin received his Bachelor and Masters Degree in Industrial Education from Ball State University. Mark also attended Indiana University for Computer Education.

Mark was nominated for this honor by two students. When asked why Mr. Baldwin should be considered for this recognition, one student responded, “Mr. Baldwin always puts his heart into what he does. Not only is he phenomenal at teaching, but he is an amazing teacher who you can just walk up to and immediately feel comfortable and at home. He is the sweetest teacher I have ever had, and I am lucky to have had him as my impact teacher since freshman year.” The other student responded, “Mr. Baldwin should be considered for this recognition because he is always making sure his impact class achieves/maintains good grades, motivates us to be successful, and genuinely cares about our well-being. He is the most impactful teacher I have had at Franklin County High School!”

When not at school, Mark enjoys outdoor activities such as bass fishing, hunting, camping, boating, motorcycle rides, and woodworking. Moreover, he loves spending time with his family and eight grandbabies.

When asked what he loves most about his job, Mr. Baldwin responded, “The students! I truly enjoy spending my days with the students. Not only teaching them my subject area and skills they will use but talking with them about life. Adding IMPACT to the high school experience was a blessing. I have had the privilege of spending the last four years with the greatest group of young people. They have identified themselves as the “Baldwin Bunch” (based on the Brady Bunch). We consider ourselves a family and to see them grow and mature the past four years is truly a blessing.”

The purpose of the “Educator of the Month” program is to recognize outstanding Franklin County educators who demonstrate excellence in the classroom, leadership in the school, dedication to the students, and involvement in the community.
