2020 Commencement Ceremony

What: Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony
When: June 7, 2020

Over the last several weeks, there have been many conversations between the Franklin County COVID-19 Task Force and the Franklin County Community School Corporation regarding the 2020 graduation. Both parties have worked together developing a plan that will provide closure for the students, allow parents to be present, and keep our students, families, and staff members as safe as possible. We empathize with the graduating seniors and their families. This situation is not what any of us wanted or could have ever imagined. It is our hope that we can provide a safe and thoughtful ceremony that will allow our graduates and their families to celebrate this milestone together.

The Franklin County Community School Corporation will be conducting a single family, in person, graduation ceremony on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Each graduate will have a scheduled time to walk across the stage on the Franklin County High School football field (Lew Wallace Auditorium in case of rain) to receive their high school diploma from Mr. Keith Isaacs, FCHS Principal. In addition, each graduate may bring up to six (6) guests to watch them walk across the stage and receive their diploma. A professional photographer will be present to take a picture of the graduate receiving their diploma. In addition, a professional videographer will record each graduate receiving his/her diploma, all student speeches, and the declaration of graduation by the Superintendent. These recordings will be professionally compiled and edited and each graduate will receive a copy.

In addition, the school plans to live stream the ceremony, so that friends and other family members may also watch the awarding of diplomas in real-time.
Plans are also being made to invite 2020 graduates back to the 2020 Homecoming for special recognition.
More detailed information, procedures, and an appointment time will be communicated to the graduates and their families from Franklin County High School staff. Please be aware that these plans are subject to change if conditions worsen.
